About the Position

With the goals of cultivating lasting student engagement in career preparation, building opportunity for peer ambassadors and ensuring student, alumni and employer service needs are met, this role is responsible for the following essential functions: Coordination of large- and medium-scale student career-development events and leadership of the 8 peer ambassadors who provide outreach, coaching and support to students. Coordination and promotion of programming, resources and services to ensure smooth delivery of program calendar commitments and Career Center services

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Lead peer ambassadors to provide tier 1 guidance to students on basic career services and how to leverage other Career Center resources. Develop targeted promotional strategies and schedules aimed at growing student engagement in events and services. Continually assess and develop high-value channels and collateral for promotions. Coordinate peers to distribute promotional materials within/outside the Center and throughout campus. Assist students with event registration and preparation, offering troubleshooting assistance when necessary. Coordinate the inventory and attractive merchandising of career education and promotional collateral in the lab. Provide feedback to student engagement team on possible gaps in collateral that could be developed. Ensure Center's adherence to ADA requirement and assist with implementing accommodations as needed by students with disabilities. Assess the student event needs of stakeholders, including: students, student organizations, select faculty and administration, and department team members. Coordinate development of an annual student events budget to optimize student engagement and minimize expenses. Coordinate student worker staffing of events. Lead recruiting for 8 peer career ambassadors as needed throughout the year. Managing peer work schedules and payroll with awareness of work study budget and other budget factors. Provide support and guidance to peers to resolve barriers to completing their work. Coordinate the Center peer/counseling mentoring program.
