Postdoctoral Fellow in Protein Biophysics
The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences has an immediate opening for a full-time postdoctoral fellow position in in the laboratory of Dr. John Carpenter. The University of Colorado provides an outstanding research environment and we are seeking highly motivated and independent postdoctoral fellows, with training and expertise in protein biophysics. The research projects provide opportunities to have major, positive impacts on human medicine by investigating the mechanisms of aggregation and particle formation for therapeutic proteins. The projects involve becoming an expert on state-of-the art new instruments, many of which are being promoted by regulatory agencies and rapidly adopted by pharmaceutical companies worldwide. Also, there will be collaborative projects with Professor Ted Randolph from the University of Colorado Boulder. Former students and post docs from the Carpenter and Randolph labs are scientists and executives in pharmaceutical companies such as Amgen, Johnson and Johnson, BMS, GSK, MedImmune, Teva, Lilly, Genentech, Regeneron, and Sanofi to name a few.
Salary and Benefits:

A Ph.D. in biophysics, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a closely related field. Candidates with strong knowledge and experience in protein biophysics; and excellent writing skills, as evidenced by multiple peer-reviewed publications, are preferred. Curiosity and a passion for biomedical science; and an ability and desire to work independently, but also be part of a cooperative, productive team are highly desirable.
