Assistant Professor in Special Education
The Department of Early Childhood, Special Education, and Rehabilitation Counseling (EDSRC) in the College of Education at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a tenure track, assistant professor position in Special Education. This regular title series faculty member will provide expertise in support of the learning and behavior disorders (LBD) program across elementary, middle, and secondary school levels. The appointment is a nine-month appointment, effective August 16, 2017.
Responsibilities include the following: Teach two courses each semester (fall and spring); conduct a line of research relevant to special education; advise current and incoming students; engage with P12 and university faculty in program planning, implementation, and evaluation; ensure innovative programs comply with CAEP and state standards; serve on masters and doctoral committees; and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.
Qualifications include an earned doctorate in special education, experience as a P12 educator, a commitment to innovative inclusive education, effective collaboration with P12 partners in education, evidence of positively impacting student growth and achievement, and demonstration of effective instructional practices in schools.
