Job Summary/Basic Function

The Science and Mathematics Department at Texas A&M University - Central Texas is seeking applicants for biology adjunct instructor positions for the 2017-2018 academic year. Successful candidates will be expected to teach in various subdisciplines of biology. Enthusiasm for teaching and working with undergraduate students is essential. A Master's degree in biology or related field is required, Ph.D. is preferred. Please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and three professional letters of reference.



Minimum Education/Experience/Skills

Master's degree in the discipline or a closely related area and a minimum of 18 graduate hours in area of instruction. Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level is desired. An earned doctorate in the discipline (or closely related field) with a minimum of 18 graduate hours is necessary for graduate teaching consideration.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience in teaching in biology.
Show an expertise in and commitment to undergraduate biology education.
Exhibit enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching and employing innovative teaching methods.

Teaches a variety of undergraduate level classes in the Biology program as needed. Writes syllabi for the courses to be taught using the approved format of the College of Arts and Sciences. Meets with students enrolled in their classes when students need additional assistance with class material and assignments.
