Vice President Finance & Operations
Responsibilities include the management and control of all financial and business services including the areas of accounting, budget development, budget control, human resources, payroll, purchasing, inventory control, investment, and financial reporting. The individual will have primary responsibility for developing and implementing the agency’s financial policies and procedures. Interpreting and coordinating adherence to agency policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations. The individual will also have a primary responsibility for budget development, monitoring of budget expenditures and resolution of budget related issues, implement a system of internal controls over functional responsibilities, record keeping practices, and accounting controls over assets, liabilities and changes in fund balances; coordinate with departments in the forecasting and development of long range financial needs The individual will work closely with the President, the Executive Team, and TSUS Vice Chancellor for Finance and will participate in setting the strategic direction of the college. Other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and five to seven years of related work experience with a strong financial background in college and university fund accounting, and CPA required. Project management experience with software conversions desirable. The successful candidate will be a conceptual, analytical, and creative thinker with strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills. Individual should be computer proficient and be familiar with a variety of computer applications. The candidate should value diversity and have a multi-cultural perspective with adult/minority students. Subject to background investigation prior to employment. Must comply with College standards and policies.
