Responsibilities Teach the equivalent of a full-time (seven-course) load per academic year, including science content and methods courses for elementary education majors and science methods courses for secondary education majors. Serve as program leader for science education. Collaborate with the chairpersons and faculty of the natural science departments (Biology, Physics, and Chemistry) to arrange staffing and scheduling for science education courses. Assist science education students in arranging their independent research projects.

 

Required Skills Candidate must be committed to the liberal arts educational mission and evangelical Christian orientation of the University and demonstrate commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, mentoring students, and scholarship. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to contribute to Bethel’s anti-racism efforts and cross-cultural understanding.

 

Required Experience Teaching licensure and teaching experience in P-12 education required in a discipline in the natural sciences. Experience in higher education or graduate research preferred.

 

Required Education Master’s degree in education or a natural science required and progress toward a doctoral program in one of these two areas; PhD or EdD in education or a natural science preferred; ABD considered.
