The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Program at The George Washington University (http://programs.columbian.gwu.edu/eap/) invites applications for a non-tenure accruing teaching position (3-year contract with the possibility of renewal), anticipated to start August 1, 2017.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

The faculty member will be expected to teach all levels of EAP, assist in program administration and instructional coordination, as well as develop new courses and programs in a rapidly growing EAP program.

Minimum Qualifications:

A doctoral degree, or ABD with expected completion date of no later than August 31, 2017, in a relevant field (such as Teaching English as a Second Language, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Composition-Rhetoric/Writing Studies, or a closely related field), specialized experience teaching second language writing in a higher educational context, and evidence of excellence in teaching, as demonstrated by evaluations, peer reviews, etc. Successful candidates are expected have an understanding of current research that informs pedagogical best practices and an active presence in the field.
