I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The Advanced Degree Program Associate of the Law School (LS) Admissions Office reports to the Director of LS Admissions. This position has the responsibility of overseeing the office which entails the following responsibilities:
• Oversees the operation of Admissions and Financial Aid front office including the management of two front office staff members, including evaluation of performance. Provides guidance, direction, and ongoing training to staff; answers the complex admissions and enrollment questions/issues that students present; and ensures a smooth overall office operation.
• Responsible for the management of the online application process, and troubleshoots issues that arise with the application and the ACES database system.
• Oversees the processing of all incoming applications, the application review process and the dissemination of admissions decisions. Coordinates mailings to admitted applicants.
• Corresponds with prospective and admitted students via phone and e-mail and responds to enrollment issues faced by admitted students.
• Generates weekly statistical reports regarding admitted students and scholarship awards.
• Attends law/graduate school fairs on behalf of the Law School Admissions office.
• Suggests processes and workflows to better assist with the efficient operation of the Admissions and Financial Aid offices.
• Performs other work related duties as assigned.

This position requires the ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments, and the ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Ability to maintain and troubleshoot record keeping systems and procedures.

Knowledge of admission policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements.
