Temporary Aide

Nature of Work:

The Physical Therapy Program has an opening for a Temp Aide position, working 20-40 hours/week. Temporary positions do not receive benefits. This position provides assistance to faculty, students, and staff. This position will take a leadership role to organize and implement various events, utilizing established procedures and contacts. Events include a daylong program event and smaller-scale events.

Supervision Received:

Position will report directly to the Program Administrator and will have additional accountability to the Program Director and Event Coordinators.

Examples of Work Performed:

This position requires the ability to lead with the attributes of being: reliable, responsible, team-oriented, accurate, timely, and flexible. This position requires the ability to prioritize in order to meet multiple and overlapping deadlines. Must be adaptable to Program needs and possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Excellence in event planning from initiation to execution: Work with caterers, organize items, personally transport a variety of items across campus, set-up and clean-up. Track event components. Assist to create presentations and materials
  • Communicate clearly and accurately to work well with internal and external constituents
  • Data collection: entry, tracking and reporting; work with various databases
  • Greet guests to the program: answer phones, direct questions to appropriate personnel
  • Cross-coverage for staff


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Performance with high level of accuracy; attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Applications. Ability to self-initiate, multitask and take direction from multiple department representatives. Ability to adapt to changing environments, statuses, and responsibilities given minimal notice. Ability to steward processes to successful completion.

Salary Range:

Salary Range: $15.00-$23.00/hour, commensurate with experience

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:




Excellent skills in communication and interpersonal relationships. Ability to lead and take direction in a way that can prioritize needs. Detail-oriented, highly organized. Intermediate skills with social media, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Highly competent in accuracy, planning, communication and accomplishment.
