Wittenberg is a NCAA Division III institution participating in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and offers a broad-based intercollegiate athletics program with 23 varsity teams - 11 for men and 12 for women - and numerous club and intramural opportunities. Annually, Wittenberg places among the top four in the North Coast Athletic Conference All-sports standings.
Wittenberg University is accepting applications for a full-time, 10-month, Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. The preferred candidate will have collegiate playing or coaching experience with the post position.
The Assistant Coach will assist the head coach in leading all aspects of an NCAA Division III athletic program. Essential functions include, but not limited to:
- Assist the head coach with practice and game-day preparation and execution.
- Interact effectively and appropriately with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, peers, community members, and administrators.
- Evaluate, recruit, and graduate student-athletes.
- Maintain and ensure student-athlete academic integrity.
- Conduct student-worker hiring, training, and supervision.
- Adhere to NCAA, conference, departmental, and university policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Provide service to the Institution as assigned b Director of Athletics & Recreation.
For this position, we require that candidates have a bachelor's degree and at least 1-3 years of previous collegiate coaching experience. Collegiate playing experience is also referred. Knowledge in the following areas is a plus: Microsoft Office, athletic video and performance review software (i.e. Hudl, Synergy), social media, and recruiting software (i.e. Frontrush).
Travel is required as well as some evening, night, and weekend work.
