The College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a renewable, full-time, non-tenure track, 10-month Visiting Assistant Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies position in the Department of History beginning August 2017.
ABDs may apply, but PhD in American History, American Studies, or related field, is required when position commences in August 2017. Possess a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarly engagement, and participation in service to the department and college.
Teach the equivalent of eight 3 credit course per academic year. Teach lower-level undergraduate sections of American Studies and a writing intensive undergraduate seminar “Maryland Plantations: Then and Now”. Area of specialization is open but those candidates with interdisciplinary teaching experience and research backgrounds are preferred.
