Job Description Summary:

GW’s Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) strives to maintain a diverse program of research directed at a wide range of problems in areas such as bio-inspired engineering, bioengineering, energy and sustainability, multi scale modeling and simulation, anotechnology, mechatronics and robotics, machine design, manufacturing, fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, and materials science.
Under general guidance of the Principal Investigator, the Post-Doctoral Scientist will support research efforts related to cold atmospheric plasma.

Responsibilities include:
Conducts experimental research on cold atmospheric plasma. Measures plasma properties including high speed diagnostics, probes and microwave scattering.

Designs new experimental set up and conduct measurements.

Designs new cold plasma devices with several distinct modes of operation.

Composes technical reports and papers.

Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position

Minimum Qualifications:

Require’s a PhD in the field or in a related area.

Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Trained and experience in low temperature atmospheric plasma research

Published work in the field of low temperature plasma physics
