The Princeton Neuroscience Institute has a Research Specialist I position available with Professor Ilana Witten.
The successful applicant will be an energetic, self-directed learner with a strong background with optogenetics or electrophysiology, previous research experience in neuroscience, and ideally familiarity with Matlab.
Applications should include a cover letter, a CV, and a list of at least two potential referees. Review of applications will continue until the positions are filled. This is a one-year term position with the possibility of renewal based on funding and performance.
Responsibilities include training mice and rats on operant tasks, performing optogenetic experiments, and histological analysis of brain tissue. The possibility of contributing to cellular-resolution imaging experiments exists as well. The research specialist will collaborate with graduate students or postdoctoral research fellows in the lab on various projects related to the neural circuits underlying reward-related behaviors.
A Bachelor's degree in neuroscience is required, along with previous research experience involving neuroscience methods. A Master's degree a plus.
