The College of Business and Administration at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is currently seeking applicants for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in Accounting starting in August 2018. The primary area of teaching responsibility will be auditing or cost/managerial accounting. Classes in other areas will be assigned as needed. The successful candidate will be devoted to teaching excellence in accounting at the graduate and undergraduate level and committed to high-quality scholarly research. Cross-disciplinary research is respected and encouraged.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • An earned doctorate (or ABD) in Accounting from an AACSB accredited business school.
  • ABD applicants must have completed all doctoral course requirements and qualifying exams and must also persuasively demonstrate that all degree requirements will be completed within one year of hiring.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior and relevant teaching experience in the areas of auditing or cost/managerial accounting.
  • Ability or interest in teaching online classes.
  • Relevant experience in public accounting and/or industry.
  • Willingness to interact with local accounting and business professionals.
  • Professional certification or license as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Candidates must have a demonstrated ability and interest to teach effectively in auditing and cost/managerial courses.
