The Information Technology (IT) program, College of Engineering, University of Missouri-Columbia seeks candidates for the following three positions to teach IT courses at the undergraduate level and perform services for the IT program starting January 1, 2017:
(1) Media technology position: A candidate should have advanced skills and experience with all aspects of Adobe CC 15 Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop, DSLR still and video capture, audio capture, lighting, and familiarity with a wide range of current audio and video equipment and software. 360° video capture and workflow, digital studio production, and 4K video workflow are preferred. Candidates should have at least a Bachelor's degree in related areas and five years of professional experience working in a media-related field. A Masters or PhD degree and an excellent teaching record using project-based learning are preferred.
(3) System administration and network position: We are interested in candidates who can teach courses in one or more of the areas in computer networks (especially practical skills in designing and implementing networks), system administration (at least for Unix/Linux systems, preferably for Windows servers as well), and cloud technology (design, implementation, and testing of cloud-computing applications). The candidates should have at least a Masters degree in related areas. A Ph.D. degree and an excellent teaching record is preferred. Information Technology certifications will be a plus.
Candidates for all positions must work on continuously improving their skills in teaching and mentoring, work effectively in a team environment, and love to work with students. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the positions require services that include advising student organizations, helping with contests/hackathons, participating in department committees, managing resources, and other needs of the department.
A Ph.D. in computer science, information technology, or a related area is required for ranked positions. Teaching experience at the college level is preferred. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in teaching and working with undergraduate students, a commitment to customer service, and a strong interest in current applications of information technologies.
