Survivor Support and Victim Advocacy Coordinator
The Survivor Support and Victim Advocacy Coordinator, under the supervision and direction of the Director of Health Promotion and Wellness within the Norris Health Center, is responsible for the development and management of University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee Survivor Support and Victim Advocacy Services and for providing victim advocacy services to UW-Milwaukee student victims of sexual assault, dating violence, intimate partner violence, sexual harassment, and/or stalking. The Coordinator provides training to the campus community, oversees sexual violence prevention efforts and initiatives, and builds partnerships with the campus and community agencies that work together to build a safe and healthy environment for students.
The Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of these services; aligning services, programs, and training with other service delivery, prevention and training efforts. This includes working within Norris Health Center on related topics and working with critical campus partners on sexual violence prevention and response (Equity/Diversity Services, Dean of Students Office, University Police Department, University Housing, Women’s Resource Center, and Title IX Working Group) to increase awareness, skills and build a coordinated response effort that also recognizes the diversity of our campus community.
