Assistant Director, Residence Life
The Assistant Director of Residence Life is responsible for aspects of a comprehensive residence life program for 280 students residing in two campus residence halls. Primary responsibilities include supervision of student staff, program development and implementation, facility management, student conduct and crisis response. Additionally this position coordinates, promotes and implements summer camps on Midway’s campus during June and July.
A Bachelor’s degree with one to three years of undergraduate experience as a resident assistant or student leader is required. A Master’s Degree in college student personnel, higher education or a closely related field is preferred. Employee must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and the ability to think creatively. The Assistant Director of Residence Life is a 12-month live-in, professional staff member within the Office of Student Affairs, and serves in an on-call rotation with the Director of Residence Life and Community Programs.
Midway University was founded in 1847 and is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Midway University also offers adult undergraduate degree completion and graduate programs through evening and online delivery. The main campus is located in Midway, Kentucky in the center of the Bluegrass Region and 15 miles outside Lexington. More than 120 acres of the 200 acre campus are dedicated to the institution’s equine program. Midway University also has an off-site location in Lexington, Kentucky.
