Job Description
The Director of Executive Communications leads a small but dynamic team of creative professionals to assist the President, Provost and other senior executives in telling the University's brand story through their unique voices across multiple platforms, spoken, digital and print, across owned, earned and paid media channels. The successful candidate will enhance the university's local, state and national reputation and image through the strategic planning and execution of written, electronic and verbal communications. The Director will serve as a key member of the Communications & Public Affairs leadership team, working with the Chief Communications Officer, Director of Brand Strategy and Director of Public Relations to inform and execute the brand strategy, content strategy and public affairs strategy.

Additionally, the successful candidate will maintain awareness of state and national current events and demonstrate the ability to recognize opportunities to engage at the intersection of the public discourse and higher education.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three years of progressive experience working in a communications field.

Preferred Qualifications
Five years of progressive experience working in a communications field oversight or management responsibility for executive and/or strategic communications. Experience writing speeches for senior executives. Demonstrated experience working effectively with and producing communications products for a variety of constituents/audiences including but not limited to students, faculty/staff, alumni, donors, community groups and elected officials.
