JOB SUMMARY:


Directs, manages, and coordinates computer and networking support to college-based personnel in the College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Life Sciences (CAFLS) and Clemson based PSA personnel, including acquisition and installation of software and hardware, troubleshooting and consultation. Performs other duties as assigned.


JOB DUTIES:


50% - Essential - Technical Support:
Provides IT support for faculty, staff and students, including troubleshooting hardware and software, resolving problems, maintaining existing systems, and planning for future computer needs. Coordinates network support and works with CCIT for installation and trouble shooting. Supports multi-station departmental laboratories utilized for classroom instruction as well as open environment. Assists in trouble shooting and correcting problems with Macintosh and Windows systems. Provides support and coordination for videoconferencing and related technology. Serve as backup IT support for local off-campus

30% - Essential - Technical Consultation:
Coordinates with administration and other consultants in CAFLS and PSA to provide technical consultation and support. Through consultation, assesses needs, procures hardware and software, and recommends standards, policies and procedures. Identifies cost effective solutions to meet requirements.

10% - Essential - Training:
Provides one-on-one assistance for personnel in accessing University and Internet resources and software. Coordinates IT activities with other CAFLS and PSA consultants and CCIT personnel. Assists staff members located in departments with information technology duties.

10% - Essential - Local Off Campus Support:
Provides computer and IT support at CAFLS and PSA facilities located in the area surrounding the Clemson campus. Includes, but is not limited to, IT support for fuel / vehicle access systems at the Cherry Farm and Simpson REC, IT support for robotic diary units at LeMaster Dairy and feed management system at Simpson REC. Serves as part of the on-campus IT support team.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. A degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor's degree and one year experience in automated information or communication system design, installation, operation, repair.

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 06 ($ 39,960.00 - $ 73,935.00)
