Job Description

Job Summary

The IT Audit & Advisory Senior Associate will provide information technology auditing and consulting services to our audit clients, internal audit support, process reengineering, and system implementation services.

Job Duties

The IT Audit & Advisory Senior Associate is responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:
  • Documents and tests IT general and application controls for a wide range of software packages and technology platforms
  • Prepares audit reports and recommendations associated with IT audit work performed and reviews them with the client and audit team
  • Identifies opportunities to utilize computer-assisted audit techniques (CAATs) and manages the implementation of those techniques, as appropriate
  • Participates in the review of internal controls based on Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements
  • Communicates to the client areas to improve processes, strengthen controls, mitigate risks, and/or increase efficiency
  • Identifies and prioritizes key risks, and assesses their impact and likeliness of occurrence
  • Recognizes technical concerns or issues and communicates those concerns with IT Audit management
  • Plans and executes the IT audit work on assigned engagements
  • Reviews the work product of IT Audit & Advisory Staff
  • Ensures technology is appropriately integrated into the audit process
  • Develops and maintains relationships with client personnel and management
  • Conducts client interviews to obtain relevant information


Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervises the day-to-day workload of IT Audit Associates on assigned engagements and reviews work product
  • Ensures IT Audit Associates are trained on all relevant software and resources
  • Delivers periodic performance feedback and completes performance evaluations for IT Audit Associates
  • Acts as mentor to IT Audit Associates, as appropriate


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems or other relevant field required


Experience:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in information systems or internal audit required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience required
  • Prior experience working within a public accounting and internal auditing environment preferred
  • Prior experience performing general and application control reviews preferred


License/Certifications:
  • CPA, CISA, and/or CISSP preferred


Software:
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and IDEA data analysis tools
  • Exposure to ERP software such as Oracle e-Business Suite (EBS), SAP, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Lawson, Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, or MAS/90-500
  • Exposure to operating systems (e.g., UNIX, OS/400, LINUX); and databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL)

  • Solid organizational skills, especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
  • Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
  • Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Capable of effective managing a team of professionals and delegating work assignments as needed
  • Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with client personnel
  • Ability to encourage team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of assigned personnel
  • Ability to successfully interact with professionals at all levels
  • Advanced knowledge of internal controls
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
