The Dance Department at the University of California, Irvine is accepting applications for part-time instructors to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses during the 2017-18 academic year in Lar Lubovitch's repertory, Donald McKayle's Etude Ensemble, modern technique, and choreography. Candidates may also be asked to assist with rehearsals and preparations for performances, tour coordination, etc. Appointment is contingent upon department needs and funding. All candidates should have university teaching experience and/or professional experience in the field, M.F.A./M.A. in Dance preferred.

SALARY and START DATE: To be determined based on the number and type of courses to be taught. May be hired for one or more quarters beginning September 2017.

About the Department: The University of California, Irvine Department of Dance enrolls 200 undergraduate dance majors and 22 graduate students in B.A., B.F.A., and M.F.A. programs in dance. The department is recognized as one of the nation's outstanding dance programs. Former UCI students have danced with professional dance companies and national tours, and have gone on to successful careers as dance scholars, educators, and media artists. The department has six dance studios, a dedicated Performance Capture Studio, a Dance Wellness Suite, and performs in three theatres. There are outstanding opportunities to collaborate with biomedical scientists, engineers, and physicians studying human movement, including through the California Institute of Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit 2) and the iMove Collaboratory. The UCI Claire Trevor School of the Arts offers graduate and undergraduate degrees in Art, Dance, Drama, and Music.
