Job Description

We are seeking an EXPERIENCED Landscape Foreman/Project Manager for career/permanent position.

We are a 20+ year old landscape design and build firm that specializes in complex and comprehensive residential and commercial landscaping in the Metro Denver area looking to employ a dedicated person for a career/permanent position.
The Landscape Foreman must be detail oriented and must be able to lead, teach, and supervise a landscape crew in all phases of landscaping as well as communicating with clients. Must be able to read, understand and follow a design. Strong interpersonal skills, safety awareness, and ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral are a must. Has the ability to train others and monitor their work for quality and completeness. Seek and identify new work opportunities and potential projects with both new and current clients. An appreciation and clear understanding of superior client service, prioritization and a commitment to timely execution is essential. The qualified candidate must be a RELIABLE, self-motivated and a hard worker with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record, as you will be driving company vehicles. Bilingual (Spanish/English) would be preferred.
Experience in these areas is preferred:
Operating a skid steer, trencher, cut saw and other landscaping equipment as well as driving a truck and trailer and loading equipment is needed.
Knowledge of designing and estimating is beneficial.
Flat Concrete, Retaining Walls, Xeriscaping, Walkways, Planting of Trees and Shrubs, Natural Rock Walls,
Stamped/Colored Concrete, Landscape Lighting, Decks/Arbors/Gazebos/Porches
Flower Gardens, Finish Grading, Irrigation Systems, Patios, Pads, and Pavers, Dirt Work
Sodding, Putting Greens/Sand Traps, Masonry/Flagstone Walkways, Pondless Water Features, Ponds and Waterfalls

APPLICANTS MUST:
Must possess excellent people skills and demonstrate effective written and verbal communication with owners and clients.
Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
A good work ethic and attitude in a high-stress environment.
Be able to keep a detailed list of tools/materials needed as well as receipts, and logs.
Be organized and pay attention to details.
Be able to use a variety of hand tools (i.e. shovels, rakes, picks, sledge hammers, tampers, etc.) requiring upper body force.

Be able to lift up to 100 lbs.; transfer vertically items weighing up to 120 lbs.
Be able to climb stairs and ladders; tolerate heights up to 20 ft.
Be able to bend and squat
Be able to tolerate various weather conditions
Have your own transportation to jobsites located throughout extended metro area
Have experience in residential/commercial landscape/irrigation
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Be able to work between hours 5 am to 7 pm, Monday through Friday; with additional weekend hours possible.
Thorough knowledge of the limitations of the specific types of construction equipment.
Ability to read and calculate grade stakes.
Possess strong problem solving skills.
Pay strong attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Managing of Crew(s) throughout the construction process.
- Direct the work of the crew as required to set and meet the goals.
- When possible perform the work of an operator or crew member.
- Responsible for training laborers and lead(s) in respect to various irrigation, landscape and safety tasks.
- Warranty work -- respond to requests to repair/replace plant materials that have not met quality standards.
- Follow maintenance procedures for each piece of equipment operated. Check all fluid levels to assure they are at the required levels prior to operating any piece of equipment (on or off site). - Fill only with the specified fluids.
- Ensure proper use of equipment by understanding, communicating and directing/training the crew on the proper use of equipment, its capabilities and limitations (specifically use, weight & volume limitations).
- Assist in the maintaining safety on the project by verifying that each employee and subcontractor knows the safety practices required by his position, conducting daily safety inspections of the project site and immediately reporting any hazards to the Owner, and constantly watching for safety problems.

This is a hands' on position. Farm boy mentality is what we are looking for, first to show and last to leave. We are seeking to find the right person to be a permanent part of our company.
