Job description

Duties: Monitor programs and funding needs of 70 plus students and respond to the requests of approximately 20 graduate faculty; respond to all inquiries regarding graduate programs including program requirements, credit distribution, and fellowship funding; process applications for admissions, organize several admissions visits, monitor budgets, and respond to inquiries; organize and coordinate graduate program functions, such as new student orientations, M.A. and Ph.D. exams, faculty meetings, graduate workshops, fellowship dossiers, summer funding, reading exams, and course registration; monitor summer and conference funding budgets; enter Concur reports for graduate students and list expenses on an internal spreadsheet; compose correspondence, memoranda and reports on behalf of graduate chairs; be responsible for managing and prioritizing administrative functions of the graduate programs.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred and 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Sensitivity to diverse groups and to issues of confidentiality; ability to work independently and to handle multiple projects simultaneously; attention to detail. Experience working in an academic setting with faculty and students preferred. Strong organizational, writing and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Office, knowledge of SRS preferred.
