The School of Medicine, School of Engineering and Applied Science, and Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia seek outstanding candidates for the tenure-eligible or tenured position of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, held jointly in two of the three schools, with the rank being commensurate with experience level. The incumbent will establish new, independent, externally funded research programs that broaden current University efforts while building on existing strengths.
The University of Virginia has identified Traumatic Brain Injury as an area of focus for further development of cross-disciplinary collaborative research with an existing team of investigators in the Schools of Medicine, Engineering, and Education. We are most interested in applicants who have an established line of research that would be enhanced through collaboration with our interdisciplinary team of scientists. The primary and secondary appointments for the position will be determined by the candidate's areas of expertise.
Candidates must have an MD and/or PhD by the time of hire and with a record of excellence in Traumatic Brain Injury research and a commitment to teaching and/or mentoring. Potential for or an established record of extramural funding is required. The award of tenure-eligible requires documentation of excellence in Traumatic Brain Injury research, scholarship and regional reputation. The award of tenure requires documented excellence in research, scholarship and national reputation.
