The Software Developer is responsible for the creation and maintenance of web applications that support the needs of the Center for Prevention Research and Development. This position will also be responsible for development and testing as well as maintaining technical documentation.

Responsibilities and Duties: (Will include but are not limited to)
Programing websites and applications to meet client needs, coordinating, complex changes with other team members
  • Develop websites and applications using ASP.NET, MVC, C#, SQL Server, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Create reusable and maintainable cross-browser code/widget for use in multiple websites
  • Integrate client and server side technologies
  • Modify existing functionality to enhance web accessibility
  • Communicate with faculty and staff on website and web application development or updates
  • Create technical documentation for internal and external audiences

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or any bachelor's degree with proven professional experience in an area of information technology. Knowledge of ASP.NET, MVC, C# or other server side languages, SQL Server or Oracle, HTML/CSS and implementing semantically correct layouts. Can write and modify custom DOM-based JavaScript.. Knowledge of common cross-browser issues and fixes. Familiarity with progressive enhancement techniques. Strong organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills. Ability to be flexible and work as part of a team. Keen attention to detail. Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
1 year of professional experience with ASP.NET, MVC, C# or server side languages, SQL Server or Oracle, JSON, ARIA. Experience with source control systems. Professional experience with web development. Awareness of current web standards and trends.

This is a full-time (100%), twelve month non-tenure track academic professional position. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. The proposed start date is as soon as possible after the closing date.
