RESEARCH TECHNICIAN II (Cain)

Responsibilities
  • Prepare for flow cytometric analysis using antibody panels designed by PI's and/or staff scientists for phenotypic studies of B cell and T cell populations.
  • Run samples on BD flow cytometers, and manage data for future analysis by researchers.
  • Understand and comply with all safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all laboratory staff.
  • Perform daily startup/quality control (CS&T) and weekly cleans for BD flow cytometers.
  • Keep lab equipment, chemicals reagents, and supplies in excellent order.
  • Perform routine lab maintenance, cleaning, and organizing.
  • Collaborate with staff and perform other duties as requested by the Principal Investigator or senior lab staff.


Education, Skills, & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in biological science or related field
  • Laboratory experience, including experience with flow cytometry, is a plus.
  • Must be able to manage multiple and rapidly changing priorities and have ability to learn new skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and well-organized with strong communication skills and the ability to work in an interactive team environment.
  • Must be willing to work with infectious human and animal material at Biosafety Level 2+.
