Instructor - Bachelor of Innovation™
The Bachelor of Innovation™ (BI) program at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs seeks a full time Instructor to teach courses in the Innovation Core of the BI. This position is located in the Bachelor of Innovation organization, which is part of Academic Affairs. This non-tenure track appointment will begin August 2017 and is renewable contingent upon program needs, availability of funding, and effective performance. The teaching load is twelve credits, or four three-credit courses, each semester. Courses in the Innovation Core are generally team-taught. The successful candidate will perform duties expected of full-time instructors, including maintaining office hours, holding conferences with students, providing students with timely feedback, remaining current in the discipline, and creating a learning environment that fosters student success. They will possess the ability to work effectively with students of various ages and of diverse competencies and cultural backgrounds. They will contribute to a collegial and collaborative work environment.

- The candidate must possess a master's degree or higher in an academic field.
- The candidate must have experience in entrepreneurial ventures and/or experience in producing innovation in organizations.
- The candidate must have a demonstrated ability and experience in working with and coaching student teams.
Required Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in teaching at the undergraduate level.
- Ability to team with other faculty in the design and delivery of a course.
- Ability to work effectively with students of various ages and of diverse competencies and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to coach teams of students in experiential, project-based courses.
- The following qualifications may receive special consideration:
- Extensive experience in entrepreneurial ventures, including funding and operations.
- Experience and/or training in Intellectual Property law.
- Experience in bringing in money through grant writing.
The salary for this position will range between $50,000- $53,000 for a 9 month contract
