The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis - KiDZ Neuroscience at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an exciting career opportunity for a Research Associate 1. This position supports research activities under the direction of the Principal Investigator, Program Director or designee of the Principal Investigator. Duties may include, but are not limited to, contributing to basic and applied research activities by collecting and analyzing data, maintaining databases, etc.; understanding and interpreting research protocols and procedures; participating in the publication of significant results by performing editorial duties; advancing expertise through continued education, training and/or research; maintaining an overview of relevant research findings; recording research procedures and results; maintaining records, codes data for input for electronic data processing inputs and retrieves data electronically; ensuring all research is undertaken according to good research practice and guidance; setting up and operating various scientific apparatuses as needed; performing various administrative duties including answering telephones, preparing correspondence, preparing and maintaining bibliographies and completing applications and forms; preparing and maintaining culture media reagents; ordering laboratory supplies; and attending and participating in meetings, conferences and training groups.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Bachelor's Degree in basic or health science. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information effectively. Ability to work independently. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Strong analytical skills.

Patient safety is a top priority.
