The Stanford Technology Ventures Program ( is the entrepreneurship center of Stanford Engineering, in the department of Management Science & Engineering. With a startup-like culture, STVP is a lab that creates research and innovative entrepreneurship education opportunities for Stanford students. Our work includes the delivery of affiliated courses, scholarly research, fellowships, and extracurricular programs, along with accelerating entrepreneurship and innovation education around the world through faculty development programs, industry collaborations, and content creation on our Stanford eCorner platform.

Reporting to STVP's Director of Editorial and Marketing, the Marketing Content Producer will drive marketing for STVP's courses, fellowships and activities to grow STVP's engagement with Stanford students, alumni and community members. The Marketing Content Producer will produce evocative marketing content and collateral in collaboration with team members, will develop strategic marketing plans, produce and run both digital and physical awareness campaigns, and manage content on STVP's digital communications channels including newsletters and social media. The ideal candidate for this role is a skilled writer and copy-editor, an imaginative creator, a data-driven strategist, an adaptable and collaborative colleague and, of course, a passionate advocate for STVP's mission to develop the entrepreneurial mindset in organizations and individuals around the world.


Under general supervision, compose material for print, web, and other platforms.


  • Perform various exploratory, information gathering and research functions to obtain factual information for written publication/communication.
  • Compose written material for diverse audiences, across a variety of channels.
  • Compile supplemental materials (i.e., images, video links, spreadsheets, biographies, executive talking points and other written materials) that support written communication.
  • Explore, develop, and maintain collaborative relationships with media, community organizations, and other targeted audiences.
  • Maintain department style standards.

    Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven success in writing for publication in print, web, and other platforms.
  • Excellent writing, interpersonal, and oral communication skills with proven ability to present, write, edit, and organize thoughts in a clear, concise, and well-organized manner.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to deal with a variety of personalities.
  • Thorough command of the English language and grammar.
  • Firm understanding of web technologies and applications, including social networking, social media tools, and current communication trends.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sit, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, and use a telephone, writing by hand.
  • Occasionally reach/work above shoulders, grasp forcefully, and sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Visual and auditory acuity, including color vision required.
