Reporting to the Department Chair, this role will be responsible for administrative support of the Chair (including calendar management, information collection, meeting minutes), Departmental Events management, such as scheduling and logistics for symposia and colloquia, the graduate student open house (with the Academic Administrator), and special department events (such as retirement symposia, senior dinner, departmental picnic). This role will also be the department point person for interaction with the College and University communications teams, focusing on website content updates, marketing collateral, newsletters, messaging), as well as SharePoint management.
Bachelor’s degree required, plus a minimum of five years’ experience providing relevant support. Excellent interpersonal, organization, multitasking, and problem solving skills are essential. The individual should have the ability to work independently and perform under the pressure of deadlines. Experience with communications is highly desired. Must be punctual and able to handle confidential materials. Microsoft Office experience essential.
