Position Summary	
Reporting to the Dean of Students & Campus Life, the Director supervises two Assistant Directors, a Leadership & Engagement Coordinator, and an Administrative Assistant. The Assistant Directors of Leadership & Engagement support the overall goals and missions of the office while also coordinating our Johnson Center for Civic Engagement and service opportunities for campus and our Greek Life program respectively. This position is a full-time, 12-month position. The position serves in a second level duty rotation with the Director of Residence Life for campus.

Specific Responsibilities:
Represent the Office of Leadership and Engagement and the needs of students to other units within the University and to external constituents; represent the department on University committees as needed.

Supervise and manage department staff, including the Assistant Directors of the Johnson Center for Civic Engagement, and Greek Life, and the coordinator for student organizations. Ensures the successful execution of department programs.

Advise the Student Activities Committee and assist in the development and implementation of annual programming calendar including late night, weekend, and special events.

Collaborate with campus partners and students to plan and execute major campus-wide traditions such as fall frenzy and spring weekend.

Monitor budgets for student programming, programming staff and approve/negotiate contracts for performers and vendors.

Supervise the day-to-day operations, programming, and staff of Charlie's Coffeehouse and coordinate the selection and training of student staff.

Provide opportunities for student leadership and development (LeaderShape, NGLA, etc.)

Utilize student development theories to advise, cultivate, and supervise student leaders toward successful collaboration, event management, and programming.

Manage annual budget for department (approve expenditures and monitor accounts)

Assist, as needed, in the management, operations, and coverage of Trax Nightclub and the Outdoor Recreation Center.

Provide excellent customer service by being knowledgeable about campus/department activities and responding to inquiries with accurate information.

Ensure that department programs are inclusive and reflect the diversity of the student body and larger campus community.

Perform all other duties to contribute to the overall success of the Office of Leadership and Engagement Division of Student Life, and the University.

Serve in Campus wide Duty Rotation.

Oversee Susquehanna University LeaderShape Institute and follow up programs.

Coordinate the Susquehanna University Leadership Passport program.

Other Responsibilities:
Significant collaboration with other departments and the university broadly on a variety of committees.

Participating as a member of the university on call system for after-hours and crisis support.

Representation of the department in the absence of the Dean of Students & Campus Life.

Divisional collaboration with other departments toward informed activity and shared resources related to the residential student experience.

Physical Demand:
Normal office environment, plus ability to walk short distances, climb stairs, and travel to various locations on and off campus including at least one national conference annually. Must be available to work some evening and weekend hours as they relate to campus events.

Required Qualifications	
Masters degree in Student Personnel or related field of study preferred.

A minimum of seven years of relevant, progressive professional experience required.

Demonstrated ability as an effective manager

Demonstrated success in developing and directing a vital student activities and leadership development program is required.

Knowledge of budget preparation and management.
