This position reports to the Personnel Administration Manager in the College of Computer & Information Science. This position will provide critical administrative and logistical support in the area of personnel operations. HR responsibilities include the hiring of part-time faculty, grant funded employees, non-student temporary employees, and student workers.. The Administrative Officer works with the Office of Global Services on processing the necessary paperwork for J-1 Scholars and completes the online I-9 process for all new full- and part-time staff. The Administrative Officer also prepares all job requisitions and position action forms. Other responsibilities include auditing the monthly payroll and staying current with all new Human Resources policies and procedures
Bachelor’s degree required and 2-4 years of administrative experience. Experience with personnel administration in a university setting preferred. Excellent software skills including Word, Adobe and Excel required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required and an attention to deal. Must be able to work independently, use good judgement and maintain confidentiality. Ability to work well under pressure, to prioritize and balance concurrent demands.
