  Position Information  

This is a part-time (.50 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before June 30, 2018, with the possibility for reappointment, This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

Under the direction of the Head Lacrosse Coach, the Assistant Lacrosse Coach will support and enhance the mission of the San Diego State University Athletic Department.  The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the direction of the Lacrosse program, performing a variety of coaching functions related to Lacrosse, including, but not limited to the following: recruiting, administrative, coaching, teaching, and fundraising.

  Compensation and Benefits  

Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $2,196.50 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $2,196.50 - $2,953 per month (salary information is pro-rated at .50 time base). Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

Minimum Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree. One year of experience coaching NCAA Division I, II, or III lacrosse; OR three years of experience playing lacrosse in Division I or on a national team.

Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills

  • Two or more years of coaching experience at the NCAA Division I, professional, or other high level competition; OR four or more years of experience playing lacrosse in Division I or on a national team. 
  • National recruiting experience. 
  • Prior experience managing a lacrosse program.  
  • Experience with community outreach programs to coordinate service projects. 
  • Specialized knowledge of offensive skills and tactics.  
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations.
