Job description

Duties: Research specialist will contribute to the work on diseases of the eye in large animal models, studying the genetic basis and developing new therapies. Laboratory works involve DNA, RNA and protein analysis, tissue sectioning, microscopy, and cell culture. Other responsibilities include computational analysis of clinical and experimental data, thus requiring excellent organization skills.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science and 0 - 1 year of experience working in a research lab or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Preference given for prior experiences in relevant methods including DNA/RNA/protein handling, PCR, qRT-PCR, cloning, and Western blotting. Prior experience in cryosectioning, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, cell culture, and the ability to do literature search will be an advantage. Computer literacy (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is essential. Must have strong work ethics, organization skills, and the ability to keep detailed and accurate record of all the experiments. Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment is highly valued.'
