STUDENT AFFAIRS SPECIALIST IV
Job Summary The Assistant Director of Student Activities and Involvement is a full-time professional staff member reporting to the Associate Director of the Tate Student Center for the Center for Student Activities and Involvement. They will assist in planning, promoting, and managing a broad spectrum of programs, events, and programs designed to promote student involvement and an open, welcoming, and inclusive environment at UGA. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to serving as the second in command for the office; providing vision, direction and supervision in the absence of the Associate Director; developing programs and services to special populations in transition including first-year students, transfer students, National Student Exchange students; the coordination of Glory Weeks ? the UGA Welcome Experience; shared supervision of the University Union Student Programming Board; shared supervision of the Senior Coordinator working with University Union Student Programming Board; management of curriculum-based student leadership development; management of graduate assistants; fiscal management including budget development; and serving as the professional representative of the office in the absence of the Associate Director. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree required, PhD. may be preferred. The only exceptions to these degrees would be long (10 years) terms of service in the appropriate field.
