About The Unit: The Energy Policy Institute at Chicago (EPIC) is an interdisciplinary research and training institute focused on the economic and social consequences of energy policies. Established in June 2011, EPIC is a joint initiative of the Booth School of Business, The Harris School of Public Policy, the Law School, and the Social Sciences Division. EPIC strives to marry world-class research and data analysis with comprehensive outreach and engagement in order to translate knowledge into impact.

Unit Job Summary: The Research Specialist (3) will report to EPIC's Director. He/she will, with limited direction, support the Center's diverse research projects. Primary responsibilities include: conducting statistical data analysis and modification of existing codes to provide robustness of test results. The Research Specialist ensures compliance with institutional, state and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. In addition to cleaning and analyzing data and programming, the Research Specialist (3) will contribute to: writing, proofreading and fact-checking academic papers, reports and presentations. He/she may supervise other research staff.

Unit Education: An advanced degree in a field of study relevant to the research being conducted is required, preferably in economics, energy economics, environmental science, or statistics.

Unit Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant research experience preferred. Experience with quantitative data analysis to support the research design preferred. Previous experience working in a research organization or managing research projects preferred.
