Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary
Southwestern Michigan College, a two-year college located approximately 30 minutes north of South Bend, Indiana and approximately 30 minutes from Lake Michigan’s eastern shore, is seeking an Adjunct Instructor in Communications to begin in Fall 2017.

Instructor must be qualified to teach a combination of public speaking and human communications courses in either traditional or hybrid class formats. We do not offer online-only classes.

Instructor must have schedule flexibility for daytime or evening classes.

Instructor must be willing to use Moodle, an online learning management system, for all classes. Moodle is used for posting assignments, attendance, grades, etc.


Required Qualifications
MA in Communications


Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience teaching community college students.


Other Information
All applicants must demonstrate the ability to promote active and collaborative learning through a variety of teaching methods, as well as relate to students. Excellent organization and communication skills as well as the demonstrated use of instructional technology are required.
