General Description of Position: Instructor (pollution prevention specialists) work on various projects related to industrial environmental compliance, pollution prevention and energy efficiency. Information about the College/Unit: Engineering Extension Department/Pollution Prevention Institute (PPI) is under the College of Engineering, KSU campus or satellite office. The university actively seeks candidates whose commitments and contributions will advance the University's commitment to the Principles of Community which can be found at https://www.k-state.edu/about/community.html The Successful Candidate will: Administer various environmentally-related programs, including energy efficiency, pollution prevention, and the Kansas Small Business Environmental Assistance Program (SBEAP), which provides environmental technical assistance to businesses in Kansas.   Specialists work with Pollution Prevention Institute (PPI) interns; conduct on-site environmental compliance and energy efficiency and pollution prevention opportunity assessments; develop and present videos, webinars and training seminars; provide individual assistance by telephone and written correspondence; research regulatory and pollution prevention issues; edit websites; and write publications.  Other duties include writing proposals for continued funding; participating in networking opportunities with other assistance providers locally and nationally; and promoting Engineering Extension, PPI, the Kansas SBEAP and other programs to appropriate audiences and stakeholders. Required Minimum Qualifications: B.S. required in an engineering or science-related discipline; demonstrated written and oral communication skills; excellent computer skills to include expertise with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and use of the Internet; minimum of one-year experience in an industrial or educational environmental area.   Students graduating Winter 2017 in engineering or science-related disciplines, with one-year experience (includes internship experience) are eligible to apply.
