Degree and Area of Specialization:
Master of Science in Social Work (MSW) required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
2 years post MSW Social Work experience is required. The successful candidate will have:
-Knowledge of social work education, social work roles, and fields of practice
-Experience working with undergraduate and/or graduate students
-Experience with career and educational planning
-Strong organizational skills
-Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with students, faculty, and staff
-Computer knowledge in word processing and campus advising systems (SOS/People Soft)
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional, and team-oriented working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and other campus units
The Part-Time MSW Program offers courses on Saturdays at the UW-Madison and the UW-Eau Claire campuses. This position will be located at the UW-Madison site, but will also advise Eau Claire site students via Skype and phone. Required work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday with occasional travel as needed.
Salary will depend on the level and title at which the new employee is hired. A one year period of evaluation is required.
