The department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine is seeking to expand our research programs focused on rural health research. As a community-based medical school, the FSU College of Medicine is particularly well-suited for conducting research in primary care and community settings. The Florida State University College of Medicine, Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine seeks a candidate for Director of the Florida Blue Center for Rural Health Research and Policy, a Full Time, Tenure Track Faculty position at Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.
The candidate would be expected to work with rural stakeholders to help grow the Center as a policy and research resource for rural providers and communities. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop and/or continue an independent line of research as indicated by a strong record of publications and extramural funding (commensurate with their rank); and participate in teaching.
The applicant must be doctorally prepared (e.g. Phd, DrPH, ScD, MD, DON, etc.) in the social, public health, medical, nursing, or behavioral sciences with applied rural health experience.
Our department seeks candidates whose work aligns with the College of Medicine mission, which emphasizes patient centered care for underserved and rural communities and the education of physicians from underrepresented backgrounds.
