Job Purpose:

The Director of Residential Life is a live-in member of the Campus Life & Housing professional staff. This position performs a wide variety of services and programs that enhance students’ knowledge, understanding and skills essential for academic success, personal development and exercise of leadership. Responsible for advising and mentoring Gillette College’s living communities in understanding, interpreting, formulating, and evaluating policies and procedures related to campus life and living. This person is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, and coordination of the housing and campus life program at the district. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the Northern Wyoming Community College District Policies and Procedures.

Knowledge:
Working knowledge of Title IX & VAWA and Microsoft Office Products.  Preferred – Working knowledge of the Residence Life module of Colleague system.

Skills:
Must be organized and able to multitask; must be willing to work in a team environment.

Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of college personnel; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to work with students, both individually and in groups.

Education:
Required - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.  Preferred - Master's degree in Student Personnel or closely related field.

Experience:
Live-in residence life work experience. Preferred-one year of experience in college student housing, developing workshops and conducting staff training, Title IX training, and conduct hearing experience.

Must be an energetic, innovated individual who is self-disciplined, detail oriented, team oriented, able to work late hours and weekends as needed and relates well to college students.

Physical requirements:  
Must be able to climb stairs and interact with a wide variety of people.
