Job Summary/Basic Function: The College of Arts and Sciences seeks applications from qualified candidates for a full-time non-tenure track biology lecturer. Primary responsibilities with be instruction of courses in general biology, as well as anatomy & physiology, and their laboratories. Other courses may be assigned, as needed. The College seeks excellence in instruction. The regular teaching load is 4/4 in addition to university service duties. Summer teaching assignments may be available but are not guaranteed.

Work Hours: Flexible to suit course schedule. Teaching assignments may include day, night, and weekend classes.

We cannot accept transcripts issued directly to the candidate. If transcripts are from an international institution, it is the responsibility of the prospective faculty member to have the transcripts translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.

Qualifications

Education

Necessary Qualifications: A Master's degree in Biology or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.

A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Biology.

Preferred Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in Biology or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.

Experience

Necessary Qualifications: A minimum of one year college or university teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Willingness to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Broad training in Biology and prior experience teaching general biology and anatomy/physiology.

Familiarity with the needs of a non-traditional, first-generation, culturally diverse student body.

Familiarity with high-impact educational practices such as cooperative education, service learning, and undergraduate research.

Experience with contemporary instructional technologies such as learning management systems and e-portfolios.
