I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

In 2011, GW Housing was formed to focus on housing operations and summer & conference housing. The department oversees over 40 residential properties, the housing selection process, and sales and marketing for summer and conference housing.
GW Housing seeks a Sr. Coordinator, Summer Logistics. In collaboration with the Office of Dean of Students, the Sr. Coordinator provides direction for the development and implementation of the summer housing strategic plan. Facilitates ongoing support for the use of university residential facilities for summer programs and conferences. Responsible for the management of the University's revenue goal attainment related to the summer housing program. Provides ongoing training to staff to ensure customer satisfaction and positive outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

Manages all mass communication for summer guests and potential summer guests (including billing and collection), and including email and printed materials.

Coordinates updates and user access to Conference Programmer (summer housing database management software). Completes financial reports daily.

In collaboration with University Departments in developing summer planning as it relates to all logistical aspects of the opening, check-in process, check-out process, and summer closing.

Provides supervision of summer staff focusing on administrative and front-line lead summer assistants and customer service training.

In collaboration with the technology support staff on the website design, develops the site as an e-commerce instrument for summer housing, and maintains the site on a daily basis.

Provides guidance to the Office of the Dean of Students in the selection, training, and evaluation of summer staff; reviews performance for effectiveness and conformity with established policies and procedures; recommends personnel actions, as appropriate.

Interprets and advises students, parents, and community members on housing policies and contractual responsibilities relative to such services.

Maintains a working knowledge of the GWU housing policies and regulations through ongoing professional development.

Develops and implements staff training programs.

Performs other duties as assigned.The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
