Job Summary This is a full-time field, laboratory, and office research position funded through July 2020. Further employment is contingent on funding availability. Field work involves working jointly with a project manager (research professional II) and graduate students, as well as, independently to collect stream ecological data in the field and laboratory. Field research may require overnight travel for up to five days at a time (transportation is provided departing from UGA). Much of the work will be in remote locations under adverse conditions, and work is physically challenging; successful applicants must be reasonably fit. Laboratory research involves organic matter processing, invertebrate sorting, water quality analyses, and standard laboratory tasks. Office tasks includes data entry and analysis, literature reviews, supervising undergraduate interns and may include report and manuscript writing. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and some related experience or equivalent combination required. Area-specific certification and/or training may be required and other training will be provided as appropriate.
