Job Description

Function/Purpose:

The Project Manager [PM] manages the logistics of fulfilling materials sold to Construction General Contractors. Project Managers will have 20 to 50 jobs in process at any given time. The PM is responsible for completing tasks in a timely and quality manner so that material arrives to the construction site when it is needed and solving problems related to the successful installation of the materials American Direct sells to the General Contractor. Leading measures of the PM's success include backlog accuracy, change order days outstanding, over 30 days stored work in process, percentage of no charges to customer and margin improvement.

Preferred Professional Requirements:

• Over 5 years of experience in the construction industry

• Experience as a project manager for Doors, Frames and Hardware and/or Installation

• Outstanding Written and Verbal Communication Skills

PM Functions:

• Act as primary point of contact for General Contractor of assigned jobs

• Execute on efficient work-flows for recurring project management tasks

• Maintain excellent working relationship with customer, vendors and company associates

• Ordering and tracking shipping of material orders

• Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of orders

• Provide verbal and written reporting of activity requested by management

• Utilize company systems for materials tracking

• Actively support company objectives and policies

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Education - College degree in construction management, business administration or similar

• Work Experience - Over 5 years of construction industry project management experience

• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate project details and requirements with team members and clients

• Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Construction Materials Supply Chain Software [Microsoft Dynamics ERP preferred]
