Job Description

Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for the full-time position of Aquatics Coordinator. Stevens is a member of the Empire 8, ECAC and NCAA Division III and offers 26 varsity sports (13 for men and 13 for women), 13 club sports, a wide variety of intramural sports and special events, an extensive outdoor adventure program and a wide selection of wellness/fitness classes. Located in Hoboken, New Jersey, a historic small town that is just minutes away from Manhattan, Stevens has an enrollment of over 3,100 undergraduate students.

Position (full-time): Aquatics Coordinator/Assistant Swim Coach

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required and Master's degree preferred. Previous aquatics management experience is required. CPO certification must be completed by the first day of employment. Collegiate coaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities: Assist the Aquatics Director in managing all aspects of a comprehensive aquatics program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving as a facility manager for 15-20 hours per week in the aquatics center; hiring and supervision of part-time and student staff in a variety of areas; oversee pool maintenance and ensure that careful records and logs are kept; manage all aspects of the group lessons program; maintain a safe and healthy environment for all patrons of the aquatics center; any other aquatics duties as assigned by the Aquatics Director.

A secondary responsibility will include serving as assistant men and women's swimming coach. Primary duties include providing assistance at practices and meets as needed and time allows; recruitment of appropriate student-athletes; and providing leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student athletes, including counseling team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters, when appropriate.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
