The Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology (NEP) invites applications for a tenure track position at the level of assistant, associate or full professor. The applicant should have experience and future research plans for human nutrition studies that will utilize our new, state of the art metabolic kitchen facility within the MU Nutritional Center for Health (MUNCH). MUNCH has a metabolic kitchen, a teaching kitchen and an observational behavior facility. The metabolic kitchen has the capacity for fully controlled feeding studies for cohorts as large as 50 for in house dining studies or 150 for pack out studies. MUNCH is adjacent to the MU Physical Activity and Wellness (MU PAW) facility which has 4 human subjects research rooms, a DXA, BodPod, PeaPod, metabolic carts, ultrasound, and blood draw and processing facilities in a clinical setting. The NEP department has a truly collaborative culture and mission and is the only department at Mizzou that is part of three colleges (School of Medicine, College of Human Environmental Sciences, and College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources). This position will have the tenure home in the School of Medicine. Successful applicants will have or develop an outstanding research program and contribute to School of Medicine teaching activities. Involvement in campus-wide research initiatives relative to obesity, cardiovascular biology, exercise, metabolism, cell signaling and nutrition is desirable. Position qualifications include a MD/PhD, MD or a PhD with postdoctoral experience and a translational research focus.
$80,000 - $115,000.
