Decooda seeks energetic, innovative, and creative individuals with strong critical thinking and problem solving skills. Currently, we are seeking an individual with a background in psychology, sociology, anthropology, OR marketing to help with a big data initiative related to social media marketing and analytics.
Those applying for this position should be highly skilled at synthesizing large amounts of insights and boiling those insights down to the most important "take home" points. In the world of big data, it is important to be able to differentiate the signal from the noise in order to tease out what is important from what is irrelevant. Imagine having a corpus of 2 million social media posts on any given topic (for instance, on Tesla cars) and being asked to answer the following questions: "What are the three things that people love about Tesla, what are three things they hate, and what does Tesla need to start doing to gain more attention from consumers?" Now, imagine correlating these insights with dependent variables, such as sales or customer satisfaction in order to understand what specifically influences the performance of the business.
Decooda has technology to help answer this question. The role of the individual who accepts this position is to synthesize findings derived from Decooda's technology and provide intriguing insights that surprise and excite.
The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the skills and qualifications listed below or will be able to offer convincing evidence that these skills and qualifications can be learned/developed rapidly.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Undergraduate degree or Master's in psychology, sociology, anthropology, or marketing
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
Knowledge of such statistical packages as SPSS, SAS, or R
Knowledge of marketing insight experimental design and methodologies
Preferred Qualifications (Applicants should explain how they exhibit any of the following skills)
Experience with science writing in APA format
Knowledge of non-English language
Teaching or tutoring experience
Experience with social media marketing or big data analytics
