The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and The Centre for Addiction and Mental health (CAMH) in Toronto invite applications for the Campbell Family Chair in Clinical Neuroscience. This position is a joint University of Toronto and CAMH hospital chair within CAMH's Campbell Family Mental Health Research Institute. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2013.

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada's largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital, as well as one of the world's leading research centres in the area of addiction and mental health. CAMH combines clinical care, research, education, policy development and health promotion to transform the lives of people affected by mental health and addiction issues. CAMH is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, and is a Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization Collaborating Centre. CAMH's Campbell Family Mental Health Research Institute focuses on interdisciplinary neuroscience research to deliver early detection methods and novel and effective treatments.
Candidates for the endowed chair position must have a distinguished record of external funding; excellent evidence of research and scholarly achievement; consistent record of publication; leadership in program development and teambuilding; experience in mentoring; and documentation of outstanding teaching performance. Candidates must demonstrate achievement of professional recognition at the national and international level in the area of clinical neuroscience as a means to explore brain pathways, unlock disease mechanisms and identify the root causes of mental illness.
Eligibility: Candidates must: 1) be members of a teaching faculty of a degree-granting institution; 2) have a research focus on some aspect of translational and/or clinical neuroscience and; 3) have PhD or doctoral degree or equivalent and be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto.
Selection: The Chair will be selected by a panel representing CAMH, the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto and invited scientific committee members.
The Campbell Family Chair in Clinical Neuroscience will be for an initial five year term with renewal for subsequent five year terms upon successful review of the research program. The Chair will be entitled to a research stipend and generous funding to establish their research program.
This opportunity will remain open until filled. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
