Applications are invited for the position of Chief, Holland Musculoskeletal Program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada, a fully affiliated academic Health Sciences facility of the University of Toronto. Effective start date is January 1, 2016, or as mutually agreed upon.
The Chief, Holland Musculoskeletal Program will be responsible for clinical and academic matters within the Program, for providing institutional leadership on issues related to musculoskeletal clinical care and research and for ensuring effective and efficient program operations.
Candidates must hold an MD and have certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent qualifications and should be qualified to hold an academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The candidate must have a strong vision to integrate musculoskeletal care with Sunnybrook's programs and strategic priorities as well as with our broader community; excellent interpersonal skills and a strong track record of leadership in an academic setting
The Holland Musculoskeletal Program at Sunnybrook is comprised of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Division of Rheumatology. The model of program management is designed to facilitate collaboration and sharing of resources and expertise among cognate disciplines. The Program is one of Canada's premier centres for orthopaedic trauma care and offers comprehensive spinal care for patients suffering from injuries, cancer or degenerative conditions. A wide range of complex upper and lower extremity reconstructive surgery is performed for the management of injury and arthritis, using state-of-the-art and minimally invasive advanced arthroscopic surgical techniques. Rheumatology services encompass the broad spectrum of inflammatory and degenerative conditions. The Holland Musculoskeletal Program has an extensive teaching program that includes undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students from medicine and a wide range of health professional disciplines. The Program has a strong relationship with the University of Toronto.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience (range $250,000 - $650,000).
